Tommy Townsend
Bio
A close family friend, Tommy traveled with Waylon Jennings throughout most of his youth. This allowed the country legend to directly inspire and mentor him as a developing artist. From time to time, Waylon would have Tommy sit in with the band, guiding Tommy’s growth as a young musician. Waylon and Jerry Bridges would go on to co-produce Tommy's first solo album.
Over time, former members of Waylon’s band would go on to form Waymore’s Outlaws. Tommy would join as the frontman in hopes of honoring Waylon’s legacy. This would lead to Tommy playing several shows with Jessi Colter as well as later touring in support of Waylon’s son, Shooter Jennings. Out of an appreciation for how Tommy played Waylon’s songs in his own way, Shooter Jennings offered to produce his latest record “Turn Back The Clock”.

“Turn Back The Clock”
Hot off the release of "Turn Back The Clock", Tommy is looking to bring back the good old days of country music.
“I wanted Turn Back The Clock to do what Waylon did for me … and Conway Twitty, Vern Gosdin, Keith Whitley and Hank Junior. Take all of them, add a little Willie, throw them in a pot, cook ‘em up and what you get is me.” - Tommy Townsend
And so it is, a perfect return to where Townsend began, to learning from the masters in order to chart his way across a landscape thirsty for musical nourishment.
“Turn Back The Clock” is rough around the edges, full of attitude and proud of it. It draws a line in the dirt and dares us to cross it, to leave behind the weary tropes of commercial country and reclaim the muscle and spirit of the outlaw era.
